THIRD ANNUAL PARTY IN THE GARDEN HOSTED BY BLACK ROCK GARDEN CLUB

A special night is promised to all attending the Third Annual Party in the Garden, hosted by the Black Rock Garden Club (BRGC) on Saturday, July 20th from 6 to 9PM.  A true garden party, Party in the Garden will be held in the Black Rock Branch Library’s Reading Garden at 2705 Fairfield Avenue in the Black Rock section of Bridgeport.  This year’s proceeds will benefit Bridgeport-based Cook & Grow, an after-school program founded by Chef Mona Jackson that teaches kitchen safety, food preparation, cooking, nutrition and basic herb and vegetable gardening.

Members of the community are invited to celebrate a night of live music, Hors D’oeuvres and wine while enjoying tasty dishes prepared by Cook & Grow and Black Rock Garden Club members.

All of the members of the BRGC are excited about this year’s event.  In addition to an assortment of appetizers and desserts, members will contribute flowers and plant material from their gardens for the creation of professionally designed floral arrangements to be raffled during the Party.

“The Party in the Garden is of special significance to our members, as this garden was conceived, created and funded and continues to be maintained by the Club,” said Lynne Interlandi, President of the BRGC.  “Professional landscape designers – and Club members - Wendy Lindquist and Marilyn Thorkilsen designed the garden and every year the garden amazes party attendees as it continues to mature beautifully.  ”

Admission to Party in the Garden is $20 per person or $35 per couple in advance and $25 per person and $40 per couple at the door.  Checks may be sent to the Black Rock Garden Club c/o Treasurer, 533 Gilman Street, Bridgeport, CT  06605.
