Ultimately, the goal of shopping local is to keep more retail dollars in the community, which relies on sales tax money to fund essential services and programs.
It’s the third year for Small Business Saturday, created by American Express. According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, small and new businesses have created two of every three net new jobs in the U.S. during the past 20 years.

And more money stays in the community when a business is based locally rather than shipped to an out-of-town owner. The business advocacy group The 3/50 Project reports that $68 of every $100 spent at locally owned, independent stores returns to the community through taxes, payroll and other costs.
There’s been a real buzz this year about shopping LOCAL, and we couldn’t be happier! We just want to remind you of all the wonderful things local florists have to offer during the holidays.
