Mark your calendars now -- Fairfield will host the town's first Restaurant Week from Oct. 14 - 20.
More than 30 restaurants will participate during the weeklong homage to gastronomy, offering prix fixe lunch and dinner menus ($10-$15 lunches, $20-$30 dinners) and other discounts to existing menu items.
“Fairfield is fortunate to have a wide variety of quality restaurants that we want to showcase," First Selectman Michael Tetreau said in a release announcing the week. "Restaurant Week gives the public the opportunity to continue visiting favorite places or frequent ones they may not yet know about."
During Restaurant Week, diners can receive a "Fairfield Passport" with the purchase of lunch or dinner at participating restaurants, according to Community and Economic Development Director Mark Barnhart.
Passport holders will get their booklets stamped at each restaurant they visit during the week. Passports with two or more stamps are eligible to be entered into a raffle at the end of the week -- the grand prize is a one-night stay at the Delamar Hotel in Southport.
Residents and visitors to Fairfield during Restaurant Week will also be treated to other events and activities before and after they dine. The town has partnered with other businesses and organizations to create a calendar of events to accompany the restaurant fare.
“We wanted to highlight things to do in town, as well as places to eat, to create more of a ‘night out’ experience," Barnhart said in the release announcing the event.
