Independent Pharmacy Sets Up Shop Downtown

Unity Pharmacy looks to win Fairfielders over with a strong focus on customer service and a desire to contribute to the community.

Fairfield's new pharmacy prides itself on offering unparalleled customer service.

Unity Pharmacy set up shop earlier this month at 1326 Post Road — the former home of Jennifer Butler and, before that, Baskin Robbins. A grand opening celebration will take place at 1 p.m. on May 5.

Naga Mulpuri, the owner/pharmacist, says she is looking forward to exercising the autonomy that comes with running an independent pharmacy. Mulpuri was a pharmacist at a national chain for five years before working for a local independent store for two years.

Unity Pharmacy accepts most prescription plans, and provides advanced services such as prescription synchronization, where the pharmacy will work with your insurance plan to refill all the prescriptions on one day every month. Unity can also send text messages to remind customers to pick up medication, or even deliver them for free — within 10-15 miles of Fairfield.

At Unity, customers can put in refill request through the pharmacy website or from the free Unity Pharmacy App on mobile phones.

Apart from filling prescriptions, Unity also stocks home health-aide products, wide selection of braces, supports, compression stockings and general over the counter medication. The pharmacy also provides Flu vaccinations for adults.

Mulpuri says she strongly believes in contributing to the local community by creating jobs and contributing to the local schools by sponsoring events, donating products and helping collect funds for the schools.
