Citizens Bank Teams Up with Sound Tigers Hockey Team and Junior Achievement of Western CT for New Financial Literacy Program

Citizens Bank colleagues recently joined Sound Tigers hockey team players, their mascot Storm, as well as volunteers from Junior Achievement of Western Connecticut to teach money management at the Wilbur Cross School in Bridgeport.

Part of the new Saves for Financial Education program launched by Citizens Bank in partnership with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers and Junior Achievement of Western Connecticut, the classroom visits are designed to give young adults the tools they need to be fiscally responsible - providing lessons on saving, budgeting and steps to obtaining employment. Students also receive certificates of achievement, as well as opportunities to interact with professional hockey players.

In addition to visiting local classrooms and participating in the Sound Tigers’ Spring Fun 102 school series game Tuesday, April 1 at 11:00 a.m., Citizens Bank is also donating $5 to Junior Achievement programs in Western Connecticut for every save the Sound Tigers make at home this season, thanks to its Citizens Helping Citizens Teach Money Management program. To date, $4,055 has been raised.
