FAIRFIELD COUNTY BANK DONATES $10K TO THE CONNECTICUT FOOD BANK

February 11, 2014 – Ridgefield, CT: David Schneider, Chief Executive Officer of Fairfield County Bank and Daniel Berta, President of Fairfield County Bank presented Rick Reichert, Director of Philanthropy and Alan Feldman, Campaign Cabinet member for Connecticut Food Bank with a $10,000 donation. 

The gift specifically supports the Connecticut Food Bank’s Kids’ BackPack Program.  The purpose of the program is to provide children with a backpack of healthy food at the end of the week in hopes that their weekend is filled with nutritious food choices to help them grow and learn.

Rick Reichert stated: “We would like to thank Fairfield County Bank for their continued support of the Connecticut Food Bank.  Their 2014 donation is enabling us to serve 1,340 kids in the county on the Kids’ Backpack Program, and we could not be more appreciative.”

The Connecticut Food Bank strives to reduce hunger in Connecticut, and their mission since 1982 is to provide food to people in need.  Additional programs the Food Bank operates are Produce for the People, Community Pantries, and a Mobile Pantry.
