RFR Realty’s Margaret Carlson of Fairfield Honored by Boys and Girls Club of Stamford at Annual “City Chic” Gala

Fairfield resident Margaret Carlson, portfolio director of RFR Realty in Stamford, was the guest of honor at “City Chic”, the annual gala held by the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford. Ms. Carlson was recognized with the “Corporate Partnership Award” for her two decades of fund raising efforts for the Stamford-based club. Her efforts have been instrumental in raising more than $2 million for the Boys & Girls Club.

 The event was held on the evening of Thursday, March 13 at the Palace Theater main stage at 61 Atlantic Street in downtown Stamford. The event raises funds to support educational programs and activities of the Boys and Girls Club of Stamford.

 Ms. Carlson and RFR Realty, the owner and manager of a 1.8 million-square-foot Stamford office building portfolio, is widely recognized for its more than 20 years as title sponsor and race organizer of the Stamford corporate 5K Run/Walk benefitting the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford. The run/walk has raised over $2 million dollars during its history.  Ms Carlson is the former Board President and 20 + year board member of the Stamford Club.

 “RFR and Margaret Carlson have made such a difference for our boys and girls, and we could never have reached this incredible accomplishment without her outstanding commitment to the organization,” said Christine S. Larsen, Chief Development Officer of the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford.

 In addition to Ms. Carlson, “City Chic” 2014 also honored Liz and Nagi Osta of Stamford-based Nagi Jewelers with a “Guardian of the Community Award”. The presenting sponsors of the event were RFR Realty, GE, the Ashforth Company and Eurest Dining Services. The evening, which was hosted by Dr. Bill Evans, senior meteorologist of WABC TV, began with an incredible cocktail party with bountiful culinary delights on the Palace Theatre Stage, followed by an awards presentation, raffles and auction with prizes including luxurious weekend getaways, dinners, spa items and jewelry.

 The Boys & Girls Club of Stamford is a youth facility that is open daily, managed by a professional staff, and is available and affordable to all youth. It has provided after-school activities and youth development services since 1927.
