Does our Town Need a Sustainability Plan?

There are as many ways to measure “green” in towns and cities as there are definitions for the word sustainable. And comparing one town to another doesn’t work because all communities start and develop differently and measuring them against each other doesn’t have any real benefit, as challenges vary.

That being said, there are some towns that are working hard to create “green” infrastructures that create a healthier environment to live and work in. These towns provide great examples for others to learn from.

Cleveland, Ohio is one city that is leading the charge. The city has a ten-year plan to develop a thriving green city and is supported by the community and strives to engage everyone.

Our neighbor Bridgeport, CT also has a sustainability plan-BGreen 2020, that lays the groundwork for building a green city.
