Residents of the Stratfield section of Fairfield have planned at candlelight vigil for 5 p.m. this evening - Sunday, Dec. 16.
Candles will be provided. Please bring a teddy bear to give to the children and families of Newtown.

A townwide community vigil is tentatively scheduled for Monday, Dec. 17, at 5 p.m. on Sherman Green.
Officials offered this statement on the town's Facebook page:
"The Board of Selectmen understands that it is important that the community have the opportunity to come together as a whole to grieve, as well as to support the survivors of the tragedy and our own first responders who were there in Newtown yesterday."
