Celebrate the Royal Wedding at Fairfield Public Library on Friday

Downtown Library to Celebrate the Marriage of 'His Royal Highness Prince William of Wales, K.G. with Miss Catherine Middleton, Commoner' From Noon to 2 P.M. Friday; Registration Required; Prizes for Best Dressed

The following news release was submitted by Fairfield Public Library:

Celebrate the marriage of His Royal Highness Prince William of Wales, K.G. with Miss Catherine Middleton, Commoner from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the Fairfield Public Library, 1080 Old Post Road in Fairfield Center. The celebration will take place in the library's Rotary Room.

Historian Dr. Mona Garcia will speak at noon, and highlights from the ceremony will be shown on the Library’s 120” Hi-Definition projection system, complete with surround sound and Blu-ray player. Tea will be served at 1 p.m.

Afternoon attire; hats and gloves are highly recommended. Prizes will be awarded to the best-dressed attendees, especially those whose hats are standouts.

Dr. Garcia taught European history at the college level and is on staff as a Reference Librarian in the Fairfield Public Library system. She has presented papers at academic conferences in the United States and Great Britain, and has publications in her field of English history, one of which has been included in the Royal Historical Society Bibliography.
