Children Produce 'Save Pequot Library' Video

The seven children who make up the "Wonderland BookSavers" group at Pequot Library have produced a video in support of restoring Fairfield's $350,000 contribution to the library.

Wonderland BookSavers is "dedicated to encouraging reading worldwide by redistributing quality literature to those who would otherwise lack access to books," according to the description posted beneath the YouTube video, which was uploaded on Thursday.

Text in the video states that Wonderland BookSavers got its start at Pequot Library.

"Here we learned how to read and value books. Pequot Library taught us how we can share with others in our global community."

The text goes on to say "we wonder: why are we helping libraries throughout the world, when Fairfield does not value its own Pequot Library?"

The RTM is slated to vote on restoring the $350,000 in town funding to Pequot Library on Monday, April 22, at McKinley School. The RTM will discuss three appeals before the body at 7 p.m.; the regular meeting starts at 8 p.m.
