Children in Grades 4 Through 6 Will Create the Amusement Park in Four Free Sessions on Saturdays, Beginning April 30

Editor's note: The following news release was submitted by Fairfield Public Library:

The Fairfield Public Library is offering an unusual, four-week program for children in grades 4-6. Help build a unique Amusement Park for Connecticut Birds with the Fairfield Public Library and community partners beginning April 30.

During a four-week session, children in grades 4 through 6 will have the opportunity to imagine and build an amusement park for birds. Through a generous grant from LEGO Children’s Fund, and a partnership among the Connecticut Audubon Society, The Young Artists Place and Fairfield Woods Branch Library, children will be brought together to visit each location where they will imagine, discover and create a unique amusement park for birds.

Children will decide what rides, booths, food concessions, and entertainment should be included in the Amusement Park. They will meet with artists from The Young Artists Studio and a naturalist from the Connecticut Audubon to help ignite their imaginations. Children will view a short video on amusement parks, receive sketch books to record their ideas, and gather natural and found objects to use in the park.
