Owners of the properties sold at auction will have six months to redeem their property by paying both the minimum bid amount and 1.5 percent per month interest on the total winning bid, the release states. Should a property owner fail to redeem their property within six months of the date of the sale, a tax collector’s deed will be issued to the high bidder.

The tax collector reportedly sent notices to all delinquent property owners on March 8 informing them of the Town’s plan to hold the auction. Property owners who pay their back taxes in full before the auction begins will be allowed to keep their assets.
