Fairfield RTM Approves Roof Warranty Extensions

The extensions essentially cover all repairs and maintenance on the roofs for a period of five years and are considered a less expensive alternative to complete roof replacements.

The reportedly approved $725,000 for “roof warranty extensions” for five of the town’s elementary schools; , , , and , during it’s meeting Monday. The extensions essentially cover all repairs and maintenance on the roofs for a period of five years and are considered a less expensive alternative to complete roof replacements.

Only four RTM members voted against the proposal, according to a report in the Fairfield Citizen.

As reported on Fairfield Patch, the approvals process for the project , when it came before the RTM, due to a large discrepancy in the cost estimates. Town Facilities Commission Chair Al Kelly along with suggested the RTM postpone its vote so the commission could get an additional cost estimate from another contractor.
