Free Medical Detectives Summer Camp Still Has Spots Available

Camp is for Students in Grades 7 Through 12 Who Want to Pursue a Healthcare Career; Will Feature Mock Disasters

There are still openings available in the Medical Outreach Summer Camp program sponsored by St. Vincent¹s College.

Students in grades 7 through 12 from local public and parochial schools in the greater Bridgeport area are invited to register for one of two summer sessions, July 11 to 15 or July 18 to 22. The camp is open free of charge.

Students will be treated to a summer full of disasters as part of the College's ongoing efforts to encourage children to consider healthcare careers. Student campers will take a virtual visit to disaster scenes ranging from hurricanes, tornado and tsunami to a nuclear meltdown and bioterrorism.

All activities will be held at the College, located at 2800 Main St. in Bridgeport, adjoining the campus of St. Vincent's Medical Center.

The Medical Detectives Summer Camp program is available free of charge to students to encourage participation by minority and low-income middle and high school students interested in pursuing a healthcare career.

Students can choose between morning (8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) and afternoon (1 p.m to 4:30 p.m.) classes. Admission will be granted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
