Grab & Go Kids Planner: Carnival at Jennings Beach, Build a Bunny Garden and More!

Head to a beach carnival, build a garden for Belle the bunny and have fun learning about trash...all in the same weekend!

Where/When: Jennings Beach, 880 South Benson Road

May 19-22

Why Go: will take place at Jennings Beach this weekend. Attractions include all your favorite rides, free petting zoo, pony rides, games, food and plenty of free parking.

Hours: Thursday, 6 to 9 p.m.; Friday, 6 to 10 p.m.; Saturday, 1 to 10 p.m.; and Sunday, 12 to 5 p.m.

Pricing: Entrance is free. Wristbands are available daily – unlimited rides for $20.

Where/When: Pequot Library, 720 Pequot Ave., Southport

May 21, 1 p.m.

Why Go: Help build a garden for Belle the bunny. Kids and their families are invited to come help build a garden for Belle, the library’s resident rabbit who  needs fresh greens and herbs every day. Bring a picnic lunch; cake will be provided.

May 21, 1 to 5 p.m.

Why Go: Trinity-St. Michael’s will host a that will include: a bouncy castle, hair braiding, coloring, face painting, tattoos, a puppet show, story-telling, music, photos and food. Kids, come in costume for the costume contest!

Pricing: $5/child, ages 1 to 12. Admission for adults is free.

 

Where/When: Fairfield Public Library, 1080 Old Post Road

Now Through May 29

Why Go: The Fairfield Public Library will host an all-day  featuring hardback fiction, non-fiction, paperbacks, children's and young adult books, as well as videos and CDs.

Pricing: On the final days of the book sale (May 28 and May 29) all items will be “All You Can Fit in a Bag” for $5.

 

Where/When: Earthplace, 10 Woodside Lane, Westport

May 21, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: There is more to recycling than just sorting aluminum cans and plastic containers in the trash. We can make things from these disposables – toys, useful household things, garden decorations. Find out what happens to the stuff you recycle. Learn how you can reduce your trash flow.

Pricing: Included with regular admission. $5 children 1-12 and seniors, $7 adults and children over 12.
