Where/When: Giant Steps, Fairfield

Why Go: Don't be late…come early to get lucky! More than 200 leprechauns have hidden themselves around Giant Steps, 226 Kings Highway East in Fairfield. The first annual Leprechaun Hunt will start promptly at 10:30! Whoever finds the most gets a prize. Find one and enter the rainbow playground, grab a pot and collect your gold! Recommended ages: 3 to 10.

Saturday, March 12, 2 p.m.

Why Go: Join in the fun at the Puppet Making Workshop with Noel MacNeal. Come make a butterfly, frog and lion puppet with very special guest author/puppeteer Noel MacNeal (“Sesame Street,” “Bear in the Big Blue House”) all from his new book 10-Minute Puppets.

Friday, March 11, 10 a.m.

Why Go: Drop-In Terrific Twos, a one-on-one program for 2-year-olds and an adult that includes music, movement and an introduction to children's books. Fridays at 10 a.m. through March 11 and March 25-April 15.

Where/When: Maritime Aquarium, Norwalk

Sat., March 12, 9:30 a.m. and Sun., March 13, 12 p.m.

Why Go: Cruise out with Aquarium educators in hopes of spying some of the harbor seals, gray seals and even (occasional) harp seals that regularly winter in Long Island Sound. Observe science in action, and have a memorable experience at the same time! The seals can often be observed at low tide, when they “haul out" to rest on exposed rocks. Departure times for the approximately 2 1/2-hour cruises vary by low tide.

Tip: Bring binoculars, and dress warmly.
