Fairfield Beach Area Neighbors are organizing a Luminaries of Love for Sandy Hook to deal with the Sandy Hook tragedy.

Many Fairfielders light the white bag luminaries on Christmas Eve each year -- this year, Lalley Boulevard residents Tory and Nicole Russo, whose nephews attend Sandy Hook Elementary School, will light 26 bags along their front yard on Christmas Eve at 5 p.m. in honor of the 26 lives lost at the school. They invite all of Fairfield to join them in doing the same. Tory and Nicole will label each bag with a victim’s name.

Pine Creek Deli has generously donated 30,000 luminary bags which will be distributed for free on Sunday, Dec. 23 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Pine Creek Deli in Fairfield, and at Newtown Stop and Shop from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
