Fairfield Beach Road Residents Reminded to Move Their Cars [Update]

Tonight's Nor'easter could bring minor to moderate coastal flooding to Fairfield's shoreline, particularly to the west end of Fairfield Beach Road.

Tonight's storm is forecast to cause minor to moderate coastal flooding along the shoreline, according to the coastal flood watch issued by the National Weather Service.

The warning states that the tonight and Thursday morning's high tides could be 2.5 to 3.5 higher than normal.

Fairfield's emergency management team issued a CodeRed warning this afternoon to residents of the west end of Fairfield Beach Road. The next two high tides are 6:36 p.m. tonight and 7:03 a.m. Thursday.

Residents are reminded to move their cars to higher ground. Overnight parking restrictions at Veterans Park have been suspended for the duration of the storm.

Another winter storm has its sights on Fairfield.

Meteorologists at the National Weather Service are forecasting a nor'easter to drop 1 to 3 inches of snow overnight Wednesday, and then again overnight Thursday.

Fairfield can expect to see between 3 and 7 inches before the system leaves the area Friday.

Here's the complete forecast for the next few days, according to the National Weather Service:

This afternoon: Rain. High near 40. Breezy, with a northeast wind around 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Tonight: Snow. Low around 33. Breezy, with a north wind around 24 mph, with gusts as high as 39 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Thursday: Snow likely before 3pm, then rain and snow likely. Cloudy, with a high near 37. Windy, with a north wind 24 to 28 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.

Thursday night: Snow likely, mainly after midnight. Cloudy, with a low around 30. Blustery, with a north wind 18 to 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Friday: Snow likely, mainly before noon. Cloudy, with a high near 39. Breezy, with a north wind 18 to 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

Friday night: A slight chance of snow showers before midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around 31. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 43.
