Maggie the dog had meant to chase a squirrel, but she ended up “carjacking” a woman’s vehicle, according to a report on DoingItLocal.com.

Shortly before 3 p.m. on Monday, the small black and brown dog ran free from her owner’s Oakwood Drive yard in pursuit of the squirrel. Apparently she mistook a stranger’s car for her owner’s, because Maggie hopped in a woman’s car parked on Oakwood Drive and attempted to bite the woman when she tried to enter her car, according to the DoingItLocal report.

The woman called police and waited for Animal Control to free Maggie from her car. Maggie’s owner told animal control he has a bad hip and was unable to chase down his dog.

No charges were filed and the owner was warned to keep a closer eye on Maggie.
