Editor: Iacono Will Be an Asset on the RTM

Letter submitted in support of RTM candidate.

Editor,

I was disappointed when I heard Pam Iacono decided not run for another term on the Board of Education.  Though I haven't attended a BOE meeting since they closed Mill Hill School back in the 80's, I follow the BOE closely in the papers and I believe that in the past four years few elected officials have stood-up for good government and reform like Ms. Iacono.

It used to frustrate me beyond belief to read the vitriol in the papers from many of the BOE members but Pam put an end to that with her direct, "tell it like it is" approach - a refreshing, welcome change that positively changed the tone on the BOE.  She was an important factor in the BOE passing 2% annual increases versus the 6% increases that were common before she joined the board.

But I was thrilled to learn that she was running for a seat on the RTM, and would be my representative in District 9.  She will be a huge asset on the RTM and will help make the Republican majority even more effective at controlling spending and taxes.  Her knowledge of BOE issues is unparalleled and she has already proven that you can count on her to make prudent choices when it comes to spending.  Join me in supporting Pam Iacono and the rest of the slate of outstanding Republican candidates Ellen Jacob, Laurie McArdle, Carol Pontrelli and Chris Tymniak to represent District 9 (voting at Fairfield Ludlowe High School.)
