Letter: 'Fairfield is at a Tipping Point'

Editor,

I am one of five district four representatives on the RTM. Those of us who vote at Osborn Hill have serious choices to make on Election Day about our future. It is my hope that you will allow me the honor of continuing to represent you.

Our district works together for our neighbors and our town. I would like to thank all my colleagues for being rational, reasonable people who want to see Fairfield thrive even though we are from different parties and don’t always agree on what is best.

Over the past two years I have seen and heard many opinions about what makes Fairfield a great place to live. I have lived here for over fifty years, watched the changes we have been through, and believe it is still a great place to live.

But for the first time, I have deep concerns. We are, at this moment, at a tipping point. The next few years will have a profound impact on just how desirable Fairfield will remain.

Therefore, I would implore all Fairfield residents to take the time to learn what our challenges are, and how candidates for RTM, TPZ, BoE, and BoF and other offices up for election, plan on addressing critical issues like long-term debt, rising taxes, housing growth, public safety and efficiencies to name a few. These are key issues that you are entitled to get reasoned answers to.

Please Vote on November 5th.

Signed,

Amy Mezoff
RTM District 4
