Shiloh Teams up with City of Bridgeport and Energize Connecticut to Spread the 'Good Word' on Energy-Saving Programs

Energy-saving program to educate residents, small business owners, and community leaders on the changes they can make within the community to save money and improve comfort through energy efficiency.

In keeping with the commitment to reduce energy consumption and the “BGreen 2020” Sustainability plan, the City of Bridgeport, Shiloh Baptist Church and Energize Connecticut will hold an informational breakfast seminar on September 7, 2012 at 8:30 a.m. that will educate residents, small business owners, community leaders and houses of worship on the changes they can make within the community to save money and improve comfort through energy efficiency. The program will be held at the Margaret E. Morton Government Center at 999 Broad Street in Bridgeport, Conn.

This event, “New Strategies for Changing Communities,” will detail discounted rate program benefits for residents and seniors offered by the City of Bridgeport that will set a new fixed price in agreement with energy providers. Event speakers will include Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch; Reverend Carl McCluster, Shiloh Church and FREEDOM; James Morrissey, Home Energy Solutions-Income Eligible Program Administrator, The United Illuminating Company; Dennis O’Connor, Small Business Program Administrator, The United Illuminating Company; and Theodore Grabarz, Sustainability Director, City of Bridgeport.

These experts will highlight Connecticut’s energy efficiency programs, business owner and residential eligibility as well as the savings and benefits associated with each program.
