A Visit from Santa at the Downtown Bookstore Holiday Open House!

The Fairfield
University Bookstore, 1499 Post Road, Fairfield, CT 06824 (203) 255-7756 presents
a Community Holiday Open House on Saturday, December 14, 2013 and Sunday,
December 15, 2013-- with a special visit from Santa Claus, arriving in style at
2:00pm! This event is free and open to the public! The Holiday Open House will
include live holiday music, gingerbread house workshops, story times,
author/illustrator meet & greets and holiday gift wrapping. All the
festivities will take place between 12:00noon-5:00pm.



Santa Claus will greet young children with their parents between
2:00pm-4:00pm on the 2nd floor both days, posing for pictures and handing
out special bookstore treats.

Gingerbread
House Workshops will be provided by Sweet Rexie’s of Fairfield from1:00pm-2:00pm on the 2nd floor both
days. Gingerbread houses are $35 and include a freshly baked, fully assembled
gingerbread house, frosting to decorate and an assortment of candies to create
your own unique design. Individuals wishing to make a gingerbread house must
pre-pay at Sweet Rexie’s as space is limited and we will not be able to handle

Holiday music will delight customers throughout the
afternoon in the Starbucks Café from 12:00noon-2:00pm and again from
3:00pm-5:00pm. Music artists include, Amanda Bellitto, Sarah Chesler and Tony
Bochhetta, Mike Stark and Jim Magrath.

Story Time with Santa’s Elf and Mrs.
Claus will begin at 4:00pm on the 2nd floor both days, featuring The American Doll Bitty Baby story followed

Children’s Book Illustrator Christine Kornacki will be on
hand Sunday, December 15th from 12:00noon-3:00pm to meet and greet
customers and sign copies of her new Children’s picture book, The First Christmas Night, written by
Keith Christopher—A lyrical retelling of the birth of Christ modeled after
‘Twas the Night Before Christmas. The
First Christmas
Night is a
beautiful retelling of the birth of Jesus on that joyous night in Bethlehem so
long ago. (Ideals Children’s Books, October 1, 2013).



Marilynn Halas, Children’s author, life coach and founder of
4 Sunflowers Media (a multi media company whose mission is to empower children and
parents through storytelling), will be on hand Sunday, December 15th
from 1:00pm-5:00pm to sign copies of her award winning book series, the Fuzzwippers, a collection of ten picture
books that help children cultivate the social-emotional skills they need to
live happy and balance lives.  

Holiday
Gift Wrapping will be available for all your purchases. Special guest appearance
by Fairfield University Mascot “Lucas” throughout the afternoons– Go Stags!
