Budgeting with Excel -- part of Money Smart Week @ the Fairfield Public Library

Do you want to create and maintain a realistic budget but don’t want to buy special software to do it?  All you need is Microsoft Excel!  Computer expert Jan Byrnes will demonstrate, using Excel 2010, how to use budget templates and how to modify and customize them to track your daily, weekly or monthly expenses.   Learn formulas that can help you determine if you can afford to buy a car or house; or when you’ll pay off your credit card based on the monthly amount you are currently paying.  The options are endless. This program will take place Saturday, April 26, 9:15-11:15 am in the computer lab at the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road.  Registration is required.  This class is intended for people with some Excel experience.

Presenter Jan Byrnes is an employee of the Fairfield Public Schools.   She often shares her expertise with the Library to rave reviews.

Money Smart Week @ your library is a partnership between the American Library Association and the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago through which libraries provide financial literacy programs for all stages of life.  Money Smart Week partners will be hosting their events April 5-12, but here at the Fairfield Public Library we are extending our programming through the month of April.  An additional program, “A Gift for Your Family: Making Your Wishes Known,” will be held April 30 at the Main Library.
