Celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday at the Downtown Fairfield University Bookstore

On Saturday, March 1st  at 4:00PM the downtown Fairfield University

Bookstore, 1499 Post Road, Fairfield, CT 06824 (203) 255-7756, will celebrate Read

Across America
with The Cat In The Hat Story Time, perfect for

kids ages 3 to 7 accompanied by an adult. A LIVE costume character will be on

hand to welcome kids and families to the 2nd floor.





Fairfield University Student Athletes will read from a

variety of Dr. Seuss story books and kids can make their very own Hat

Enter a FREE raffle with a chance to win The Cat in the Hat Floor Puzzle from Random House, a gift card to

Magic Beans of Fairfield (our new downtown neighbor) or a gift basket from

Sweet Rexie’s of Fairfield.





Every year the National Education Association (NEA)

celebrates the birthday of beloved children’s author Dr. Seuss, with a reading

motivation and awareness program called Read Across America. This program

calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading. NEA’s Read

Across America
was born on March 2, 1998 and was the largest

celebration of reading this country has ever seen. Research has shown that

motivating children to read is an important factor in student achievement and

creating lifelong successful readers.

An amazing selection of Dr. Seuss books will be available

for purchase at the downtown Bookstore Read Across America event. Parents

This event is free and open to the

public.
