Connecticut Master Chorale Annual Holiday Prelude Concert

Ringing in a
new holiday season, the Chorale will perform a wide variety of festive
selections in this eclectic program which includes the traditional and the
unusual, reflecting many different cultures and musical styles.

The program opens with The Sound of a Bell, heralding the Christmas season with
peals of joy and an abundance of praise. It also features "The Many Moods
of Christmas - Suite Three", from the incomparable Robert Shaw's
remarkable collections of familiar carols that have become standards in the
traditional Christmas repertoire. There will be music from John Rutter, Mack
Wilberg, and a special grouping, Christmas in the South Seas, which
includes "Christmas Island", a golden oldie made famous by the
Andrews Sisters, a lullaby from Indonesia entitled Suliram, and the joyful
"Pasko Na Naman!" (It's Christmas Again!) from the Philippines.

"A Caribbean Noel" and "Sing a Joyful Alleluia"
will feature the ever popular steel drums. "All Good Gifts",
the beloved song of Thanksgiving from the musical Godspell,
"Hanukkah Remembrance", "A Celtic Advent Carol", a traditional
Gospel spiritual, and other seasonal selections will add to the diversity of
the performance.

The concert will conclude with the rousing "Talkin' About Jesus", telling
the good news of the Christmas story and the baby Jesus as only Southern Gospel
music can.

The Chorale will be accompanied by the Connecticut Master Chorale Holiday Brass
and Joseph J. Jacovino, Jr. on keyboards.

Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Please call (203) 743-0473 for
