Cactus

“CACTUS - The American Led Zeppelin.” Those are tall words, but that is in fact what people were saying about Cactus when this first "Super Group" hit the scene in 1970. Tim Bogert and Carmine Appice are one of the greatest rhythm sections in rock music history, there is no denying that. They helped to put Vanilla Fudge and countless other bands on the map over the last 40 years. This rhythm section is perhaps the most distinctive element of the Cactus sound, a kind of missing link between Cream's Jack Bruce/Ginger Baker tandem and the virtuoso grooves of Rush's Geddy Lee and Neil Peart.
