How Community and Family Connections Shelter Kids from an Unpredictable and Sometimes Scary World.
The first workshop will be held Friday, January 25th at 10:00 a.m.
Second workshop will be Tuesday, February 19th at 7:00 p.m.
In the aftermath of the Newtown tragedy, Fairfield Counseling Services is offering 2 workshops for parents and other interested adults in talking with kids about the things that scare us. Learn to create an action plan based on your family's values to help you manage personal distress, conflicts with others, and the flood of information that children are exposed to in today's viral video world.
Some of the topics will include:
- Talking with kids about difficult and disturbing situarions;
- Protecting kids through building personal resilience and making meaningful connection;
- Taking care of kids by taking care of ourselves
These workshops are open to the public. No registration is required.
