Play With Your Food Announces February Line-Up

Performing arts producer JIB Productions has announced the line-up for its Play With Your Food program at Fairfield Theatre Company on Feb. 19. (The Feb. 12 event was postponed due to weather-related issues.)

Now in its 11th season, PWYF is a theater program that includes a buffet lunch and dessert, short-play readings by professional actors and a post-show discussion.

Performances are held from noon to 1:30 p.m. on dates in January, February, March and April.  February’s lunch will be catered by Garelick and Herbs for the production at FTC.

This month’s productions will be an excerpt from “Barbra’s Wedding” by Daniel Stern. Written by the actor, known for his work in the Home Alone and City Slicker movies, the play is about an out-of-work television actor and his wife as they examine their own marriage in the midst of the wedding madness surrounding their famous neighbor, Barbra Streisand, who has not invited them to her elaborate Malibu nuptials.

Clark Gookin will play Jerry, the out-of-work actor. His wife will be played by Bethany Caputo, ("The Diaries of Adam and Eve," "Lynette at 3 AM"). Both will be coming from New York.

Gookin is a Colorado native whose work includes “Friendly Fire” at Playwrights Horizons.  “Bethany and Clark have worked together many times. When they're on stage together, it's an unpredictable blend of fireworks," says PWYF Artistic Director Carole Schweid.

Nadine Willig (Stratford) will appear in “Today a Little Extra” by Michael Kassin, which ponders how you hold on to a little bit of the past when times are changing in the neighborhood… and everywhere else?

“Nadine will play Mrs. Abrams, possibly the last customer standing, at the last Kosher butcher shop in the old neighborhood,” explains Schweid. “This play was originally done at the world-famous Actors Theatre of Louisville.”

A comedy will round out the February productions.

During 2013, performances at Toquet Hall in Westport are set for March 5-7 and April 2-4. At Fairfield Theatre Company, productions will be held Feb. 19, March 12 and April 9.  Performances also will be held at the Greenwich Arts Council in Greenwich on Feb 13-14, March 13 and April 24-25.

Tickets are priced at $43 per show and include lunch. To purchase tickets and see complete schedule, visit www.jibproductions.org or call the box office at (203) 293-8831 Monday-Friday. between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
