SACRED HEART UNIVERSITY TO COMMEMORATE KRISTALLNACHT WITH SPECIAL SERVICE

SACRED HEART UNIVERSITY TO COMMEMORATE KRISTALLNACHT WITH SPECIAL SERVICE

WHAT:  Kristallnacht Commemoration Service to remember and acknowledge the beginning of the Holocaust. Kristallnacht, which is also referred to as the Night of Broken Glass, was a pogrom or series of coordinated attacks against Jews throughout Nazi Germany and parts of Austria on November 9 & 10 in 1938. German authorities did not intervene as the attacks were carried out by paramilitary and civilians. The streets were covered with broken glass from the windows of Jewish-owned stores, buildings, and synagogues, which led to the name Kristallnacht. A reception will follow the service.
