Sunday Afternoon Jazz with the Sean Smith Trio at the Fairfield Public Library

Join us at the Fairfield Public Library for a Sunday afternoon jazz concert with the Sean Smith Trio.  Smith has been an integral part of the international jazz scene for more than 20 years, appearing at major jazz festivals, concert halls and clubs all over the world.  He has performed with Gerry Mulligan, Phil Woods, Benny Carter, Jacky Terrasson, Bill Charlap, Rosemary Clooney, Peggy Lee and many others.  Smith is also a prolific composer whose work has been described as “lyrical, melodic, cinematic, and songful.” The concert will take place Sunday, December 2, at 2:30 pm in the Memorial Room at the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road.

The Sean Smith Trio features Sean Smith on bass, John Hart on guitar, and Russell Meissner on drums. The Trio has played together for more than 13 years and they share a similar passion and vision for music. This kinship helps to create a distinctive group sound noted for its rare lyrical quality. With Sean's songful and melodic compositions underscoring the trio, their warm acoustic sound reveals a respect and love for the jazz tradition and beyond.

Jazzwax.com called Smith and his group  “. . . enormously smart and sophisticated.  A terrific package from start to finish.”

A delightful way to spend a Sunday afternoon before the holiday crush is upon us.
