Reading your writing work in public is an important part of the writing process.  Come and join other fellow writers for a night of reading on Tuesday, February 5 in a welcoming, non-judgmental environment.  Bring a piece of your work and read for a maximum of 15 minutes.  Gain some constructive feedback from your fellow writers and friends.  The reading will take place at 7 p.m. in the Memorial Room of the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road.

Journalist, educator and author Rita Papazian will host this program. Papazian wrote “Remembering Fairfield: Famous People & Historic Places, “which was published by the History Press in 2007.  She is a long-time writer whose news and feature articles have been published in many local and statewide publications, including Connecticut, Westport and Fairfield magazines.  Papazian’s strong interest in memoir writing led to her writing “Gioacchino: Memoir of an Italian Immigrant” as well as her conducting a series of memoir cookbook-writing workshops.

The Writers Read program underscores Papazian’s interest in writers sharing their works through public presentations.  With a wealth of talented writers in Fairfield County, Writers Read is intended to create opportunities for writers to share and showcase their talent while encouraging new talented writers.

Participating writers’ published works will be available for purchase.  Advanced registration is required due to the limited space.  All programs at the Fairfield Public Library are free of charge.  For more information and to register for this event call 203-256-3160, or visit us on the web www.fairfieldpubliclibrary.org .  Follow the Fairfield Public Library on Twitter: www.twitter.com/fairfieldpublib and Facebook: www.facebook.com/fairfieldlibrary.
