Getting Ready for College -- Mission: Admissions -- for Teens and Parents at the Fairfield Public Library

The Getting Ready for College series returns with a special session that features two of our most popular presenters, Mary Spiegel and Lynn Carnegie.  They will discuss how to best prepare for the admissions process, including finding the best colleges for your needs and qualifications and standardized testing strategies to get you there. This is a can’t-miss session for underclassmen and their parents.  Join us on Saturday, September 21 at 2:00 pm in the Rotary Room at the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road.

Presenter Mary Spiegel is a Certified Educational Planner.  She is the owner of Spiegel Educational Consulting, a private practice in Fairfield County, CT that guides students to successful admission and enrollment in college.  A former director of admissions at Fairfield University, she has nearly two decades of experience in higher education.  Mary is a frequent speaker at local organizations and regional corporations on the topic of college admissions.

Presenter Lynn Carnegie teamed up with Bud Pollak to found Carnegie & Pollak Test Prep in 1984 to prepare Fairfield and Westchester County students for college entrance exams.  With over three decades of teaching experience, Lynn brings her expertise in math education to the SAT Prep classroom to help students excel on the math section of the SAT.  Lynn taught for many years in both the Scarsdale, NY and Darien, CT school districts.

This program is part of the Library’s Getting Ready for College series.   A new topic will be covered each month.
