Community Corner

Mike Tetreau and Father Allen to dance.....

Fairfield and Westport community leaders will join together for a new and unusual event on October 25 at The Patterson Club. A CHANCE TO DANCE is a fundraiser created as a Dancing-with-the Stars-style competition. Six community leaders including First Selectman Mike Tetreau, Fairfield University Chaplain Father Charles Allen, and Westport Arts Center Exec. Dir. Peter Van Heerden, have graciously agreed to take on roles as local celebrity dancers. Each will be performing on the dance floor with a professional partner to compete for The Mirrorball Trophy and The People's Choice Award. They have been practicing for months!
The panel of distinguished judges consists of Fairfield University men's basketball coach Sydney Johnson, Bill Mitchell, and former Broadway dancer Carole Schweid.
The event benefits Positive Directions, The Center for Prevention and Recovery, of Westport.
VISIT our event website http://www.achancetodance.us/ for more info, tickets and to vote for your favorite dancer. No tickets sold at the door.
