Oh, Cassius!

Join Bridgeport’s Oh, Cassius! in celebrating the release of their debut EP, “Ides of March”.

John Torres and Meredith DiMenna, the core songwriting team of Oh, Cassius! will be joined on stage for this event by an all star band including drummer Tim Walsh of The Stepkids, bassist Gary Valush of Fake Babies, cellist Jeff Chen of Them Damn Hamiltons, multi-instrumentalist, Jason Polise, and musical director Scott Packham on piano, for an evening of their original songs as well as some of the pop mash ups that brought them so much YouTube love.

“Ides of March” is the producing debut of CT-native and Grammy-nominated producer/engineer, Brendan Muldowney, who will also perform in the band for the event. It features an impressive roster of top musicians including bass player Michael Libramento (Grace Potter and The Nocturnals), drummer Chuck Palmer (RJD2), cellist Dave Eggar (Coldplay, Frank Ocean), drummer Zachary Alford (David Bowie, B52s) as well as a duet with another CT based national act, Mates of State.

Torres and DiMenna formed Oh, Cassius! in the summer of 2012 and since then have been the beneficiaries of a hyperactive and strange muse, resulting in material so fresh and unclassifiable that they were the recipient of a 2013 Connecticut Music Award in the category of “Best Other”. “Ides of March” is the result of a year of work and the generous donations of fans and friends through a crowdfunding campaign.
