Community Corner

Southport Fire Department Open House

The Southport Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting their annual open house on Saturday, October 26, 2013, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, celebrating one hundred and eighteen years of service to the residents of Southport and the Greater Fairfield Community.

The purpose of this event is to provide members of the community with information to help keep them safe focusing on fire safety awareness and education. There will be live demonstrations as well as equipment on display.  The Connecticut State Police will also be demonstrating the importance of wearing seat belts with a rollover simulator.

All are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to look over our equipment, fire trucks and firehouse as well as visit with our members and ask questions. The Southport Volunteer Fire Department, a federally recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the protection of your home and family, is always actively seeking new members willing to serve in both administrative and support roles as well as active firefighters.

The Southport Volunteer Fire Department is located at 69 Main Street in Southport, Connecticut.  For directions please read below. For more information about the Southport Volunteer Fire Department, to learn how to join, or to make a donation, please visit www.southportfire.org.
