Star War Reads Day @ Fairfield Public Library

If you are looking for some out of this world fun, stop in at the Fairfield Public Library for a day- long celebration of Star Wars on Saturday, October 5 – Star Wars Reads Day. There will be activities for all ages, games, trivia, crafts, snacks prizes and more!  Star Wars Reads Day is a national event that celebrates reading and Star Wars, created by Lucasfilm and its publishing partners.

There will be all types of Star Wars fun from 11 am until 3 pm.  Enter to win a bag of Star Wars swag and take a picture with your favorite Star Wars cardboard cutout.  Children can color in scenes from Star Wars, make a lightsaber or Yoda ears!   Visit the Teen Room to dance to a song at the Kinect Star Wars Dance Party.  At 1:30 there will be a Wookiee Sound Alike Contest.  Continue your Star Wars celebration by going to the Rotary Room at 2:30 for a Trivia Contest for children, followed by trivia for teens and adults.  Then at 2:30 pm there will be WAMPA! (aka BINGO) in the Children’s Program Room.

Conclude the Star Wars Movie Marathon Week at 12 pm in the Memorial Room to watch Star Wars VI:  Return of the Jedi.  Wear your favorite Star Wars costume, if you like.  Star Wars books will be in featured displays on the main floor and in the Children’s section ready to be checked out.  All events will take place at the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road.
