A talk and book signing by author Jeremy Dauber
Dauber’s book is the first comprehensive biography of one of the most beloved authors of all time: the creator of Tevye the Dairyman, the collection of stores that inspired Fiddler on the Roof.
Sholem Aleichem, called “the Jewish Mark Twain" by the New York Times was one of the founding giants of modern Yiddish literature.
Jeremy Dauber is a professor of Yiddish literature at Columbia University, where he also serves a director of its institute for Israel and Jewish Studies and teaches in the American Studies program.
The grandson of SholemAleichem, Mitchell Waife is currently a Resident at The Jewish Home in Fairfield where the program will take place.
