Understanding Breast Cancer with Dr. Veronica Waks at the Fairfield Public Library

Popular health topics speaker Dr. Veronica Waks returns to the Library this fall to present a series of talks on Understanding Breast Cancer.  Her second lecture will explain the classification of breast cancer: the histolopathological type, the grade of the tumor, the stage of the tumor, and the expression of proteins and genes.  She will then review the standard approaches to treatment.  This talk will take place on Thursday, November 14 at 7:00 pm in the Memorial Room at the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road.  Registration is requested.

The final talk in this series, Understanding Breast Cancer, Part 3, will take place on Thursday, December 5.  How vitamins, minerals and herbal supplements can be helpful during treatment and afterwards will be covered, as will dietary changes and supplements that can contribute to breast cancer prevention.

Dr. Waks, ND is a licensed naturopathic physician who practices at the Norma F. Pfriem Breast Care Center in Fairfield.  After practicing as a traditional medical doctor for more than ten years, Dr. Waks became increasingly concerned with the negative side effects of pharmaceutical treatments.  She then studied natural and alternative therapies and received her doctorate in naturopathic medicine.
