Understanding Breast Cancer with Dr. Veronica Waks at the Fairfield Public Library

Popular health topics speaker Dr. Veronica Waks returns to the Library this fall to present a series of talks on Understanding Breast Cancer.  Her first talk will examine the internal and external causes of breast cancer development, including genetic predisposition, the role of the environment, and stress. The current methods of screening for breast cancer: mammogram, 3-D mammogram, ultrasound and thermography, will be discussed.  This talk will take place on Thursday, September 12 at 7:00 pm in the Rotary Room at the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road.  Registration is required.

Understanding Breast Cancer, Part 2 (November 14) will look at the types and stages of cancer and methods of treatment.  In Understanding Breast Cancer, Part 3 (December 5), how vitamins, minerals and herbal supplements can be helpful during treatment and afterwards will be covered, as will dietary changes and supplements that can contribute to breast cancer prevention.

Dr. Waks, ND is a licensed naturopathic physician who practices at the Norma F.
