The majority of jobs filled each month are not posted online or in classifieds, making networking a “must-have” skill for job seekers. A career counselor from the Connecticut Department of Labor will discuss the challenges of networking and explain how to develop and nurture a network of contacts that will help lead you to your next job. Join us on Monday, September 16 at 10:00 am in the Rotary Room at the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road. Just attending begins to expand your network.
Additional Jobs 2013 programs scheduled this fall include: Twitter for Your Job Search: Ready, Set, Tweet!, Tuesday, September 24, 7:00 pm; How to Use Indeed for a Successful Online Job Search, Monday, September 30, 10:00 am and Power Up Your Job Search with LinkedIn!, Wednesday, October 16, 7:00 pm.
These talks are part of the Library’s award-winning speaker series, Jobs 2013, now in its fifth year. The talks are supplemented by the Library’s networking group, a LinkedIn networking group, one-on-one career counseling sessions, Job Search Boot Camp, podcast recordings of over 100 past presentations (www.fairfieldpubliclibrary.org), and an updated collection of job-hunting books.
