Fairfield Giants Youth Football League is accepting registration for its fall Tackle Football (ages 7-15), NFL Flag Football (ages 5-10) and Cheerleading (ages 7-15) Programs.
Fairfield Jr Football Program is a member of Southern Ct Pop Warner (SCPW) and is an age/weight matrix based program.
This matrix allows for players to play with participants their own size and weight which differs from one level fits all grade based systems.
SCPW play’s high school Federation rules based football which helps to prepare our children for the type of game they will be playing when making the next level transition into high school football.
The Giants’ program has cultivated relationships with the local high schools for more than 40 years, including Ludlowe, Warde, Fairfield Prep, Notre Dame and St. Joseph High.
The league will hosting many Open House venues beginning in April. All past and prospective participants are welcome.
For more information on Open House dates, or to register go to fairfieldgiants.com.
The session will feature general information on Giants tackle, NFL flag and cheer programs, which will be facilitated by coaches, league officials and parent volunteers.
*A Safe Play Showcase will be on hand to explain the new Heads Up Football style of play and training/certification that all coaches are mandated to perform.
*The leagues strict concussion awareness training and certification. Parents will see why The NFL has accredited the Fairfield Giants as one of the top Heads Up Football programs in the country.
*An Equipment Showcase  that will allow parents and players to see how each  participant will be fitted for play as well as to the overall role equipment plays in relation to on field safety.
*Information on the Little Scholars Program and the emphasis placed on every child having good academics in order to play organized sports. This past year alone, the Fairfield Giants had 12 boys and girls that were recognized nationally for their academic endeavors as Pop Warner Scholastic All Americans.
In addition, head coaches will be in attendance to discuss their views on the Giants program as a feeder into the high school systems and how Federation rules football plays such an important role in fundamental skills and training needed to excel at the next level.
Volunteer coaches are USA Football, SCPW, and National Pop Warner certified in positive coaching, concussion awareness, Heads Up Football training, and overall football knowledge.
A vigorous coaching certification process separates us from other organizations that do not require or hold any certification mandates.
The Giants are the only program in the area to maintain an internal concussion coaches/parents seminar conducted by a Board Member physician.
SCPW and the entire NE Regional league, is mandated to be Heads Up Certified. We are the only league in the state and region that mandates all teams be HUF certified.
As an added bonus for those who attend an Open House event, a Free FASTT Speed + Agility Camp registration will be offered to all registrations completed at an open house (both returning players and new players registering at the registration table).
FASTT Camp (Fun Athletic Speed Technique Training) is a $100 value for (14) ninety-minute speed and agility training sessions running through June and into July (see fairfieldgiants.com for more information on FASTT Camp).
