FITWEEK: Walking is exercise too!

FITWEEK is all about finding the activity that fits your lifestyle, sometimes it could be just going for a walk!  Our community leaders committed to take the challenge of walking the U.S. Surgeon General’s recommended 10,000 steps a day during FITWEEK.  In order to help them get to this goal we have planned 3 special group walks this week and we want you to join us!

• Love to shop and still want to stay fit?! Join us for our FITWEEK shopping walk on October 1st at 12pm! It is sponsored by The Shops at Yale and our community leader Sonia Baghdady will lead us through our walk beginning at the Yale bookstore – 77 Broadway.
• Have you walked through the center of Branford?! Join us for our FITWEEK Pink & Green walk on October 4th at 5:45pm! It is sponsored by soundRunner and our community leader Dr. Anees Chagpar of Smilow Cancer Hospital at YNHH will lead us through our walk beginning at the soundRunner – 1088 Main Street in Branford. This is also in honor of October being Breast Cancer awareness month.
• Have an interest in the museums of New Haven?! Join us for our FITWEEK Museum walk on October 6th at 11am! It is sponsored by The Shops at Yale and our community leader Claire Criscuolo of Claire’s Corner Copia will lead us through our walk beginning at the Yale Peabody Museum - 170 Whitney Avenue.

If they each accumulate 50,000 steps by Saturday, October 6, FITWEEK will make a $5,000 donation to Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven.
