Old Post Tavern Hosts Fundraiser for Sandy Hook Playground Project

The fundraiser dinner is slated for 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10. Proceeds will go toward a playground to be built at Penfield Beach in honor of Jessica Rekos.

Don't make dinner plans for Wednesday -- instead, head to Old Post Tavern and support the Fairfield Fire Department's fundraising effort to build a playground for Newtown victim Jessica Rekos on Penfield Beach.

The Post Road restaurant is hosting a police, fire, and teacher appreciation night fundraiser from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Wednesday. Proceeds will go toward the costs of building the playground.

Dinner is $26 per person and sponsorships are available, too -- refer to the attached photo for information.

The Parks and Recreation Commission approved Penfield Beach as a location for the playground -- part of the New Jersey-based "Sandy Ground Project" -- in June.

Those who wish to donate but are unable to attend Wednesday's dinner can check out the Sandy Ground Project's website for other ways to contribute.
