Fairfield Warde High School student Sarah Reilly is one of 20 finalists in the running to win $10,000 for her charitable project — to buy a new slide and other playground equipment for Highwood Park.

And here's more about Sarah and her project, in her own words:

Hi friends, family and world!

My name is Sarah Reilly and Freshman year I started an organization called "Cupcakes for our Community." It's an organization where I bake and sell cupcakes at the park at the end of my street to raise money to buy new playground equipment (Highwood Park).

Playground equipment is surprisingly very expensive so in order to achieve my goal I realized I had to sell a lot of cupcakes! Freshman and sophomore year combined I raised $600 and was really pleased.

I was not fully aware that just a single slide costs about $8,000 which was a little discouraging.

In January, I came across an ad for Metro PCS scholarship and community service award which awarded the winner $10,000 towards college and $10,000 towards their community service project. I wrote essays, filled out applications and got approval from the fairfield parks and rec department.

Two weeks ago, I was shocked and amazed that I had received an email and call saying that I had made it to the next round. I was made aware that there was over 800 participants and I had been chosen as one of the 20 people to complete the final phase. The 20 people who were chosen won $2,500 towards college and were one step closer towards winning the grand prize.

The final phase required me to make a 15 second long video about my project and to share my video with as many people as possible. I am trying to get as many likes on both facebook and instagram as possible so please help!

In order for the likes to count, it must be done either by liking this video on instagram (if you have one) and/ or clicking the facebook icon on my video link. You my have to sign into facebook when clicking the icon, but after that the vote should go through (links are provided below.)

Although the person with the most amount of likes does not automatically win, it does have a huge say. If I do indeed win, I will be able to finally put a new slide in and other playground equipment!

Thank you so much and hope you enjoy my video!
