Sandy is fast approaching and so is the November 1 deadline for Early Decision.

As the Northeast prepares for the impact of Hurricane Sandy so are colleges and The Common Application.

As the Northeast prepares for the impact of Hurricane Sandy so are colleges and The Common Application. Here is what The Common Application posted Friday on their Facebook page:

“We're watching the brewing Frankenstorm along with everyone else. When unexpected events have upended major deadlines in the past, colleges have responded graciously. As we head toward November 1, we've asked our members to consider how they might respond again should they need to. Hopefully, they won't need to.”

Déjà vu! We had the exact same scenario last year at this time with the snow that shut down the Northeast for a week. At my high school we did not have a single student penalized as a result of not having the ability to submit their ED application electronically due to the storm. So I hope this helps a little to reduce the already high anxiety level that is associated with the November 1 deadline.
