Fairfield Kiwanis Club Takes Over "Trick of Treat on Safety Street"

“Trick of Treat on Safety Street” is back in Fairfield.

The Kiwanis Club of Fairfield has volunteered to take the lead to carry on the Halloween tradition for children to trick or treat in their costumes on Halloween.

Formerly run by the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce, the Kiwanis Club will be adding this popular event to its already lengthy list of charitable and civic works in the community.

“Kiwanis in both Fairfield and internationally is best known for its service, and its motto: ‘We are changing the world one child and one community at a time,'” said Kiwanis Club President Renee Ruggiero.

The location for Safety Street, which has been held in downtown Fairfield, has not yet been decided, according to Ruggiero.

“I would like to thank Kiwanis for carrying on this special Fairfield tradition that delights hundreds of children year-in and year-out in a safe and fun environment,” said First Selectman Mike Tetreau. “I would also like to thank the Chamber for assisting Kiwanis in the transition of this event and for all of the year-round events it sponsors to promote our Town’s businesses.”
