EXERCISE WITH A TWIST

When it comes to weight loss, exercise is imperative. Not only is it necessary for good health, but exercise can be your number one tool for maintaining your losses.

For most people, this is a hard thing to accept.

While being prepared with healthy foods can be a challenge, exercise requires a commitment of scheduling and motivation. Add to this the fact that most people do not have the energy or the interest, especially during these snowy winter months.

However, if you can get to Spring with a consistent exercise plan, you will be that much closer to your goals when the warmer temps make it easier to get outside and move.

To help you along, I have created a clever way to get you moving and motivated. I call it The Rock That Body Part Challenge.

The premise is simple, lessen your scope.

Choose one body part that you would like to change. Is it your thighs, butt, stomach, or the backs of your arms? It doesn’t matter what area you choose, but you have to be motivated enough to change it.

Next, choose a certain time of day you will do your challenge. First thing in the morning, or right before bed seem to be the best times to get things done.

Now find one exercise you can do consistently each day to tone that problem area, and aim for 25, 50 or 100 repititions.

For instance, if it is your stomach, try doing a plank challenge. Start each morning holding a plank for 10 seconds. The next day make it 15 seconds, the next day 20. Each day add just a little more.

You could also start with 10 sit-ups and progressively work up to 100.

For your arms, try doing 2 push-ups; add one push-up each day until you reach 25.

How about the butt? Squats or kick-backs would do the trick.

Track your progress on a chart and aim to never miss a day.

The Rock Your Body Part Challenge will get you in the habit of moving daily, while also slowly moving you towards a goal. You will be surprised at how easy this is, and how good it will feel to complete your challenge each day.

Accomplishing this one task will make you feel stronger and in control, and it will create a daily habit of consistency that you can add to when the warm weather rolls around.

So what body part are you gonna rock?

Choose it, commit to it, and leave a message in the comments below. It’s that simple, but powerful beyond words— just like you!
