Fairfield YMCA Strong Kids Campaign: It feels good to do good!

April showers may bring flowers but it also brings spring fundraisers…so m-a-n-y fundraisers!

I last wrote about fundraising and giving back to the community in my spare time. My spring fundraiser was an easy choice! As a governing member, the YMCA’s Strong Kids Campaign is near and dear to my heart.

This campaign is all about helping people, more specifically and importantly the people of Fairfield. All monies raised go back into the community and help provide services such as child care, swim lessons, special needs programming and wellness activities, just to name a few.

The YMCA in Fairfield has been a part of the community for years. Perhaps you or your child learned how to swim there, or your child discovered a new passion there, or your mother found a support group at Silver Sneakers, or you can go off to work knowing that you have somewhere safe to leave your child?

The YMCA is all about community! Can’t afford membership or the cost of program participation, this campaign funds that as well. The YMCA even opened their doors to the community and offered showers and a place to recharge when Sandy blew through town.

Times are tough and the dollar is stretched tighter and tighter but there are always people in need of a lift up. Your contribution will make a big impact on someone’s life. And remember:  we take it all, big and small as many small gifts add up!

So now that you are ready, willing and able to donate, you need to know how:

Stop by the Y with a credit card, check or cash and tell them Marlene sent you

Or

Print out the included donor form and mail it to the Y

Or

Click on the link provided and donate directly at the Y’s website

Thanks Fairfield for supporting your Y and your town!
